Strawberries need no introduction. This variety, Jewel, is what we grow at our farm. It is a high quality commercial variety with sweet, flavorful, firm fruit and larger berries. We source bareroot plants from certified disease free commercial operations and pot them up in organic manure-based compost.
 
It helps the plants establish better if you pick off their first flowers so they put more energy into establishing their roots. You can plant or pot up 4-5 runners from each plant to fill out a bed and get more fruit in the ensuing season.
