Black Willow: Salix nigra

Cutting rooted and potted up in organic manure-based potting soil. Entering second year of growth.

Grows up to 30-50' tall or can be coppiced annually for weaving rods

 

Hardy to Zone 2

Native to eastern to central Canada and eastern to central United States. Early pollen source for pollinators.

 

This species is fast-growing and thrives in consistently wet, full sun environments. Its extensive root systems perform well for erosion control.
